Nyasia Valdez, Network Manager, EII
Nyasia Valdez is a lifelong resident of Southwest Detroit. Nyasia grew up around a community of organizers and powerful leaders including her mother. She has been Organizing people and her community since she could first walk and talk. Nyasia works as the Digital Stewards Network Organizer for the Equitable Internet Initiative Southwest Detroit based out of Grace in Action Collectives. She also works as the Program Director with Inside Southwest Detroit connecting youth in the neighborhood with media and creative placemaking opportunities. Nyasia is committed to building communities and spaces with quality participatory designs and processes that cultivate racial equity and greater access for youth and people of color. Is an aunt to an adorable 6 month old baby. She loves hot sauce and is a jalapeno eating champ.
