Fiber Internet
is coming to
Southwest Detroit
Southwest Equitable Internet Initiative (SW EII) is expanding the existing network in Southwest Detroit by building out fiber infrastructure. The hybrid network will include fiber to the home, point-to-point wireless, and public hotspots to connect families to affordable, high speed, community-built Internet.
SW EII is a community-run Internet network partnered with Detroit Community Technology Project (DCTP) and based out of Grace in Action Collectives. Rates to get connected are sliding scale from $10 to $30!
You may have seen Southwest Detroit Digital Stewards Rita and Bryan passing out information on the Equitable Internet Initiative and the new fiber connection coming to the area.
The new fiber network will begin at Michigan Ave. and Junction and will provide service for families surrounding Academy of the Americas and St. Hedwig’s Academy.
We are looking forward to strengthening our relationships with community organizations and businesses in the area.
